Enterprise Small Cells
There are different ways of providing deeper cellular coverage and higher capacities within buildings to enterprises. One approach might be the installation of a DAS. Sometimes an operator will merely direct higher power coverage from an external site.
Other approaches include the deployment of multiple small cells within a building by using enterprise-class femtocells from the likes of ip.access and others.
SpiderCloud and NEC both provide a system based on SpiderCloud’s E-RAN architecture, which couples remote cellular nodes with an on-site controller node that controls aspects such as call handover and interference management.
Ericsson’s Dot Radio connects small remote radio heads with integrated active anntennas to a feeder base station – a bit like a scaled down version of a RRH/ C-RAN deployment.
